Hello, I’m Sean Rollinson, founder of Enso Counseling in Scottsdale, Arizona.
My work as a therapist is rooted in a simple belief: when we learn to understand our emotions, real change becomes possible — in our relationships, our sense of self, and the way we move through the world. This belief isn’t just theoretical for me; it’s shaped by both professional experience and my own life journey.
Over the past two decades in behavioral health, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and deeply ingrained relational patterns. I’ve seen firsthand how often people are not “broken,” but overwhelmed by emotional experiences they were never taught how to understand or work with.
Like many of the people I serve, I have personal experience with anxiety, depression, addiction and long-term recovery. That lived experience profoundly shaped how I understand shame, emotional regulation, accountability, and healing. It also informs how I approach therapy — with respect, empathy, and a deep belief that meaningful change becomes possible when emotions are understood rather than avoided.
I’m a husband and a father, and family plays a central role in my life. These roles continually remind me that emotional growth doesn’t happen in isolation — it unfolds in the context of relationships, responsibility, and everyday life. Therapy, to me, is not about becoming someone else; it’s about becoming more fully yourself.
I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to deliver a TEDx talk in Grand Junction, Colorado in 2025, where I shared the core message that guides both my personal life and professional work: World Peace Is Not a Political Process — It’s a Personal One. The talk reflects my belief that lasting change begins with emotional understanding at the individual level and ripples outward into families, relationships, communities, and culture.
Professionally, I bring extensive experience across multiple levels of care. I’ve worked in acute psychiatric settings, substance use treatment, crisis intervention, and private practice. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students at Grand Canyon University and to lead clinical teams in high-pressure environments, experiences that sharpened both my clinical judgment and my respect for the complexity of human suffering.
My approach integrates emotional intelligence, attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based modalities such as Mindfulness, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Post Induction Therapy (PIT). These are not techniques applied mechanically, but tools used thoughtfully within a collaborative, relational process.
In addition to my clinical work, I developed Mastering Emotional Intelligence™ (MEI) — a coaching framework designed to help individuals and couples better understand emotions, regulate responses, and build healthier patterns of connection. This work also extends beyond therapy through MEI Strategies, LLC where I collaborate with small, mid-sized, and large organizations to cultivate emotionally intelligent cultures, strengthen leadership, and improve communication and connection in the workplace.
I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with a specialization in trauma, abuse, and deprivation, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I remain committed to ongoing learning and growth as both a clinician and a person.
Whether you are seeking individual therapy or anxiety or emotional patterns, couples counseling, or coaching through deeper emotional understanding, my role is to offer a steady, supportive space where emotions can be understood rather than feared — and where meaningful, sustainable change can take root.
